Digital Artist: Prisco III

Fell in love with these creations right as I saw them. I love the look of mixing photos with drawings.. and vibe of his pieces. These pieces depict African immigration. I connect with them on a personal level and love everything about them.

A Masked Culture

Ive been falling in love with masks. I grew up in a house where there was an African mask or painting on every wall you turned to, but this is my first time exploring with it in art. I've found that masks reoccur in various cultures-from Mexico's lucha libre's, to North American Iroquois tribes, to rituals in New Guinea, to American comic books.. Masks. Synonymous for hiding something is one way to look at it, but here's another.. Embodying something above yourself, embodying creativity, and culture. I've been working on a big project with inspiration from the African masks, but here's some practice work.

Randomness inspired me to use thread, I found a bag of it somewhere.

3 layers- the mask, the the leaves, the city

Been using lots of layers lately too now that I think about it.. Layers and masks. Wonder what that means.

G, peace.

We Are Bigger Than Race

I am trying to change my own way of thinking and grow stronger.. as artists, our work reflects such. So many crazy things happening due to racism, and not just in Florida, its happening in our own cities; our corner stores, our malls, our streets, job interviews.. everywhere. Being a colored person experiencing and observing racism, one may get bitter towards the other race.. but, what is race? The color..the hue..of someones skin, something so small that has all these things placed upon it, making the skin over our ligaments so heavy.. With this piece I attempted wanted to make race look small. Because who are we really? WE ARE CULTURE

Speaking about race through linocut.. my first time doing linocuts since high school and actually caring about it, my first one :

"We Are Bigger Than Race"

Working on a second one that is more direct. Excited for this one. Take a guess of what it will be
